GUIDING

From climbing walls to exploring worlds

Nicola has been taking friends for informative walks (read: nerding out) through the bush ever since she was a child, and when she found a passion for rock climbing she shared that too, becoming a climbing and hiking guide in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales through the University of NSW.

Upon moving to Canada, Nicola found her way to Churchill, Manitoba on recommendation from a fellow biologist and began guiding with Natural Habitat Adventures in 2022. Since then, she has been fortunate to work two full seasons in Churchill during ‘Polar Bear Season’, including a tour with the incredible WWF experts Elisabeth Kruger and Rachael Axelrod.

With the opening of Australian tours with Nat Hab, Nicola became part of the first Australians to run the trips and is commencing her third season across the continent to spectacular places such as the Daintree rainforest and Great Barrier Reef, down to the ancient lutruwita/Tasmania and much in between.

A lot of the photography on this site is taken on expedition.

Daily Dose of Nature

In addition to taking wonderful guests to stellar locations, Nicola has also presented a number of webinars on the Natural Habitat Adventures Daily Dose of Nature series.

For Nat Hab, this ambitious project started during lockdowns when access to remote wilderness and conservation travel was limited. The team sought to produce an hour long webinar every day Monday - Friday and it has been running continuously ever since.

You can view a selection of webinars presented by Nicola in the list here or head to Nat Hab’s Daily Dose website to see upcoming webinars.

  • In this series we explore the indicators of the natural world, from anywhere in the world.
